About NJES / Teacher of the Year

My name is Laura Pittman and I am honored to be Teacher of the Year! I currently teach 3rd grade at North Jackson. I have taught 3rd grade here for 4 years. I am in my 22nd year of teaching. I started in Hall County where I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade over the years. Many of my years have been dedicated to serving students in an inclusion classroom setting. My passion is working with students that need a little extra support and love to help them grow.

My family and I moved to Jackson County 5 years ago and fell in love with this area! My husband, Cary, drives the Blue Bus here at North Jackson and is the Pastor at White Plains Baptist Church in Jefferson. Our daughter is a senior at JCHS and our son is all grown up and working. We are all very active in our community and look forward to serving Jackson County for many years to come.
